Goldenrod

Virginia Goldenrod (Solidago gracillima) is in our garden.

NB:  The photo #7 from Alex is not goldenrod.  Her "Golden Ragwort" is goldenrod, but the photo she provided is an exact match to a photo of Sweet Goldenrod, Solidago odora on the Virginia Native Plant Society's website. Solidago gracillima is Virginia Goldenrod.

At this point, we need to check which goldenrod we have, and add our own photos.

Virginia Goldenrod, aka Sounthern Bog Goldenrod.  There are many varieties.

While it is often blamed for hay fever, its sticky pollen is actually moved by insects.  Airborne pollen from ragweed is the true culprit in our allergic reactions.
