Black Chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa), Red Chokeberry (Aronia arbutifolia), or Purple Chokeberry (Aronia prunifolia) may be in our garden. I have not seen it yet and Alex used the red photo and the black (melanocarpa) scientific name.
The image we have used is from Wikimedia Commons and is for the Black Chokeberry. It generally reaches 3 to 6 feet in height.
The Red Chokeberry may reach 6 to 10 feet in height, and the Purple Chokeberry may grow 10 to 12 feet tall.
